Student assistant for development tasks in the field of semantic modeling and knowledge graphs in the context of digitization of public administration
Summary
- The student assistant position is to be filled within the framework of three projects of the working group "Open Design of Digital Administrative Architectures" (www.opendva.de).
- The projects are collaborative projects within the framework of implementing the Online Access Act (OZG) to digitize administration with partners from administration, business, and science. Every service provided by the public administration and every action within this administration is based on a legal foundation. The aim of the projects is the scientific investigation of the path from the legal text to the digitized service. Objects of investigation include the analysis of electronically available legal norms using rule-based and AI-based methods, as well as the analysis, expansion, and integration of standards from the field of federal IT architecture. The question of how low-code or no-code approaches can help digitize services sustainably and FAIRly is also being investigated. Standards for data and its transport systems support us in this. High-quality data is a basic prerequisite for AI-based methods. The modeling of the very extensive knowledge in this area is particularly important.
- For this purpose, the use of Semantic Web technologies such as ontologies and knowledge graphs, as well as their integration into these approaches for processing applications from the population, lends itself.
Your possible tasks:
- Familiarization with the colorful landscape of public administration digitization.
- Support colleagues in the development of ontologies and knowledge graphs in the context of public administration
- Support in linking these ontologies to relevant terminologies and standards
- Support in the development to integrate these and other technologies/approaches and essential services into existing low-code or no-code approaches for sustainable and intelligent digitization of public administration
- Documentation of results.
Your profile:
- Ongoing scientific university studies (Bachelor, Master) in computer science or a comparable course.
- Interest in developing ontologies and working with Semantic Web technologies (e.g., RDF, SPARQL, OWL) and graph databases.
- essential experience in programming (preferably Java)
- Good language skills in German and/or English
Our offer:
- Work on a real research project with practical orientation.
- Exciting/varied/interesting fields of activity in digitalizing public administration.
- Comprehensive induction, flexible working hours
- Possibility to work remotely, in person, or hybrid.
